Sometimes it's hard to put to words what's going on.
When we're struggling to find our voice, the arts can provide a way to ground ourselves and facilitate expression of our feelings, challenges, and hopes. I believe the act of creating is a powerful healing force.
I am a photographer, Registered Psychotherapist and Art Therapist based in Toronto. I love the creative ways that community, arts and justice intersect. Based in Narrative Therapy and Community Arts, my practice is grounded in deep listening and a social justice lens. I use a collaborative approach, working with each person to deepen their connection to their own strengths and stories of resilience. Mindfulness and nature-based reflections are additional resources offered. Guided by an ethic of generous welcome and anti-oppression, I'm honoured to support the LGBTQ2S community and people from a diversity of identities and backgrounds.
My previous experience includes over a decade of community-based practice at Sanctuary Toronto, facilitating accessible art spaces, developing self-care practices for front-line workers, and supporting folks severely impacted by homelessness and trauma. Rich experiences journeying with this unique community have profoundly shaped me as a human being and therapist. I have also been honoured to come alongside individuals during palliative and end-of-life care, as part of the Expressive Arts Therapy volunteer team with Hospice Toronto.
Please reach out if my profile resonates and we can see if this practice would be the right fit for you.
