Counsellor/ Registered Social Worker
Life can at times, be overwhelming. The reality is that at some point, we all will struggle. The challenges of our lived experiences, upbringing, financial constraints and relationships can get the better of us. Such experiences can make us feel helpless, hopeless and lost. For those struggling, it is not always easy to seek help.
The taboo of counselling and mental health across cultures presents a significant barrier... but it doesn't have to. I am at the forefront of advocating for change and breaking the stigma that prevents many of us from seeking the help that we need.
I am a Registered Social Worker with a Master's in Immigration and Settlement focusing on the health and well-being of visible minorities and marginalized communities. My approach to counselling includes collectively:
