Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)
I am a relational therapist, providing an empathic, client-centred approach to psychotherapy. I work with adult individuals to promote a deeper understanding of self and to explore the ways in which we connect to both our inner and outer worlds. This includes the gentle examination of thoughts, emotions, and patterns of belief. It may further include working with interpersonal challenges, difficult situations or events, trauma, depression, anxiety, grief, addiction and/or feelings of general unease or emptiness. Whether you know exactly what is troubling you, or if it's not yet clear, we will talk about it together, aiming towards mindful awareness, authenticity, and self-compassion.
I believe that we each know ourselves best, but often it can be difficult to identify or name the areas that are causing us pain, or holding us back. From a relational perspective, I believe that the things that cause us distress are not the result of something that is wrong, or lacking, deep within ourselves. Instead, the way we feel on the inside is rooted in our experience of being in, or out, of connection with ourselves and with others.
My approach is both supportive and collaborative. I feel that we are all striving towards a sense of happiness and well-being, doing the best we can with the methods we have learned. Therapy provides a unique opportunity to reflect on those methods to discover what is working well for you and/or what you might like to change.
I offer early morning and evening sessions at my sliding scale rate, and a limited number of daytime appointments at the low cost rate. My office is steps from the Yonge/Eglinton subway station.

Counselling Social Worker
The counselling process can feel mysterious at times. I describe my style as gentle, supportive listening. You will feel heard, held and supported in a non-judgmental space. Laughter can happen just as often as crying in a session. If you feel stuck, you will feel unstuck, if you feel stressed, you will feel less stress.
I know the power of counselling, having used social work services at different times in my life. I have a genetic eye disease and use a white cane to get around. Some people see blindness as a tragedy, yet it hasn’t stopped me from making my world famous eggplant lasagna or completing a half marathon. I also love to dance, read fiction and spend time snuggling with my cat.
I’ve been a Counsellor since 2012. I earned my bachelors and Masters degrees in Social Work from Ryerson University. My specialties include working with women, grief and loss, general wellness, and living with a disability.
I have two office locations. Thursdays I am at the Healing Collective at Woodbine and Danforgth. The rest of the week I am at my office at Victoria park and Danforth. Both locations have availability during the day and evening.
Psychotherapist in Training
Welcome! I am glad you stopped by to learn about me and what I offer. I am a gestalt psychotherapist in training. One thing that stood out from my training is self acceptance. It has allowed me to stay with my authentic self. I bring these qualities to my practice. I provide a non-judgemental environment for you to explore your own authenticity. I help you discover your own pattern of behaviour that might be holding you back.
I believe we all walk around wearing different masks, which we feel we need to help us cope with daily life. Together we work to uncover what lies beneath the masks and reach for your authentic self.
I am respectful with where you are at in your life and I take you seriously in your struggle. I believe you are the expert in your life and it is my role to be with you, to listen and to offer insight. You are the author of your own story and I gear the therapy session to match your unique individual needs/struggles.
I have an inclusive and sex positive practice, and I respect diversity in all aspects.
How I work
My main interest is to help individuals to understand and address their ongoing problems and patterns. My work focuses on people in life transitions such as relationship changes, empty nest syndrome, job transitions, immigration, and trauma. I believe the therapeutic relationship is a co-creation where you will gain a deeper understanding of where you are at in your life and what has brought you there. We all create patterns for a reason. Often we created them in our early childhood to keep ourselves safe and cope in our environment. You might find these patterns are no longer serving you or actually holding you back. I work in the here and now to help you to unpack these patterns and create something new.
I work with the body to explore your emotional state through sensory awareness. Along with the embodied approach I like incorporate creativity, art, imagery, metaphors to deepen our work together.
Registered Psychotherapist (Q)
After a successful 15+ year career in the real-estate industry, I made the choice to pursue my true passion, that of helping others. The most personally rewarding aspect of any job I held during this time in real-estate - be that as office manager, executive assistant or operations manager - was that of supporting others in the workplace, thereby fostering strong working and interpersonal relationships, and helping my colleagues to realize their best selves.
As a deeply compassionate therapist, I believe strongly in creating a safe space for mutual growth, wherein cohesion and alliance advance the therapeutic processes of healing and development. With avid curiosity and respect, we’ll explore the innermost workings of your mind, heart and spirit. I believe in taking a client-centered approach to my practice, acknowledging you as an individual and working as your pace dictates.
Without preconceived agenda, I'll work alongside you holistically in seeking your truth. In addition to Individual Therapy, I also offer Couples Therapy and Group Therapy. I also offer Psychotherapy sessions via Doxy.me - much like Skype or Facetime, but secure - for those who are prevented from attending in person.
My office is located at Main and Kingston Rd. in the Upper Beaches. I invite you to contact me in order to begin your journey.

For most of us, things have to get pretty bad before we look for help. Emotional pressure can make life miserable. Inner conflicts can leave you stressed out and anxious. It can hurt your sleep, your work, and your relationships. Sometimes it feels like there’s no pleasure in life at all.
The good news: it can get better. Becoming an emotional ninja isn’t magic. It’s work. Together, we can help you better understand your emotional challenges, and put that perspective into practice so you can make choices to help you get the life you want. We work not just to help you know yourself, but to see your struggles with compassion. Self knowledge without self love is warfare.
I have extensive experience working with mental health issues including self-doubt, anxiety, depression, bipolar, narcissistic personality disorder, borderline personality disorder, and the impacts of sexual violence, childhood abuse and developmental trauma. I am committed to do my best to create a safe, inclusive space including those who identify as LGBTQI+, and members of the polyamorous, BDSM and other alternative communities.

I am a sex-positive and inclusive therapist with respect to all aspects of diversity. You are welcome here.
I work with individuals and couples. Together we work to sort through any unfinished business: areas where you may feel stuck, places that may be causing painful symptoms such as depression, anxiety, or relationship conflicts. I help people who are struggling with finding their place in the world bring clarity to who they want to be, and the choices they are making. I help people explore and accept their feelings, address any harmful behaviour, and work to create personal agency and a deeper sense of self.
I will help guide you to challenge some of the core values, beliefs, and behaviour that may have been vital to your survival in the past, but could be holding you back in the present. I believe therapy is a way for people to know themselves more deeply, to be confident in who they are, and ultimately be in charge of their own lives.
For our work together I focus on creating a strong and trusting relationship, where clients feel a sense of empathy and feel heard. Our work together is tailored toward your individual needs. My approach is supportive yet challenging. I focus on emotions and how emotions are related to, and affect your body. I also allow for various forms of creativity and humour in our work together.
I help guide clients toward the changes they want to make in their lives, so they feel more fully themselves and are healthier and happier.

When we experience difficult situations in life, we do our best to adapt and survive. Sometimes we may push our feelings away, find distractions, or try to mentally escape. These strategies might help us in the short-term, but over time our problems tend to resurface, often in the form of troublesome symptoms such as anxiety or depression.
The type of psychotherapy I provide involves getting real about what is happening for you and taking the time to explore your concerns in a healthy way. We talk about your feelings, thoughts and other things you may be experiencing. It is not always an easy process, but therapy can help you to identify and address the deeper reasons you are struggling, so you can effectively work through your difficulties and find your way forward.
As a therapist, my role is to support and guide you in the process. My training is from Toronto’s Centre for Training in Psychotherapy, where I completed a 6 year post-graduate program in applied psychodynamic psychotherapy. I have been in private practice since 2014. I am a registered psychotherapist in good standing with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.
I currently have a limited number of morning and afternoon appointments available for a reduced rate. In order to qualify, you need to be a full-time student or living on a low income. You also need to be committed to the process of therapy and able to meet on a weekly basis for the duration of therapy. Normally people are in psychodynamic therapy for at least 6 months. If you are a post-secondary student or have group insurance benefits, your fee may be partially covered.
Pearl's therapeutic practice is grounded in a combination of client-centered therapy, narrative therapy and mindfulness. Pearl strongly believes that people are not defined by their problems and everyone has the capacity to achieve their full potential.
In her practice, Pearl focuses on facilitating a space of compassion and to build a partnership with her clients. Throughout this process, she can help individuals connect to their true self; build self-resiliency; identify their life narrative; help them explore their narrative's impact; acceptance and re authoring their narrative to re-align with their true self.
Pearl specialises in youth, individuals experienced with abuse/assault, anxiety, grief/loss and life transitions.
Life is a complex journey that can be overwhelming to face at times, and it is inevitable to experience setbacks, stressful times, feel lost, stuck, lonely, and confused, and many other “negative” emotions. In challenging times, having somebody to talk to can be tremendously meaningful.
Therapy provides clients with the opportunity to explore feelings and emotions and the chance to (re)discover that they are meant for significance, belonging, and unconditional love, even though life can sometimes make it hard to uncover and fulfill these needs. I would be honored to be part of your journey of self-discovery towards becoming your most resilient self.
I am a highly skilled, compassionate, and empathic counsellor and I approach counselling from a client-centered, strengths-based perspective and focus on giving my clients the means to better understand themselves as well as providing them with the practical tools to manage their stress, anxiety, and to manage their emotions.
I have worked extensively with youth with mental illness, adults experiencing stress and mental health difficulties, and families experiencing behavioral challenges with their children. I use a variety of techniques to help you discover the root cause of why you are feeling stuck, so that we can focus not just on symptoms but on healing.

Are you feeling overwhelmed in life? Are you looking to live a fulfilling, satisfying life but are weighed down by feelings of low self-esteem, insecurity, anxiety or burnout? Does your life feel out of control but you don't know how it got like that or how to change it? Therapy can help. Together we can identify and work on the traumas, personal beliefs, emotional patterns or behaviors that are causing you pain and hindering you from having the life you want. We will work with an end goal of getting your life back on track. A life where you feel more present and in control. You deserve it & are worth it.
I work with clients on a variety of issues including low self-esteem, anxiety, stress, depression, grief and life transitions. My personal style as a therapist is one of heart centered warmth, compassion, kindness, along with a gentle humor. I use a holistic approach with my clients of talk therapy, emotion focused therapy and body (energy work). I also use mind/body techniques such as guided visualization and mindfulness. I do not believe in a one size fits all approach to therapy – in open dialogue we figure out together the best approach to use for my client’s comfort and benefit.
Seeing a therapist and doing the hard work of therapy, takes courage and commitment. I get that. It is my honor to be part of my client’s journey.

Though I treat all ages, my clinical focus is on children, adolescents, and families.

I am here to help guide you through some of these challenging issues. I do so without judgement and I work from a strengths - based perspective.
Even though my clinical focus in providing family - based treatment, I am also well equipped to address the needs of adults and couples. My training is also trauma informed and I’ve successfully treated adults trying to heal from trauma.

Too often, we suffer alone with stress, anxiety, strained relationships, compulsive behaviour, depression, loneliness and a host of other issues. While it can be so easy to feel isolated with these problems, talking to an objective, trained, support person can build hope and create a path towards improvement.
I integrate therapeutic modalities in my work; I prioritize a strong client-therapist relationship, focus on client goals and offer a variety of practical resources, tools and techniques.
After a career in corporate Canada focused on training, leadership development and coaching, I returned to school to further my education and skills in spiritual care and psychotherapy. I am a certified coach currently in clinical supervision for psychotherapy.
I have extensive experience supporting people in their careers, particularly when dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma and grief. I have worked with clients to clearly identify workplace stressors, learn and practice different strategies for coping day-to-day, develop new perspectives on workplace issues, practice new communication and leadership skills and consider best-fit career development options.
I love helping quirky, kind-hearted people navigate their worlds. I'd really like to hear about your specific situation and the changes you're hoping to make. If you are struggling with something and would value a confidential space to talk things through, I’d be pleased to connect.
