I am a Registered Psychotherapist with a Masters in Counselling Psychology from the University of Toronto/OISE with over ten years of counselling experience in the areas of postpartum mental health & parenting, reproductive health, and sexual assault.
Perhaps you are overwhelmed with anxious thoughts, feeling stuck or conflicted, or worried that you’re not showing up in your life the way you want to. You might be struggling with a life transition – like becoming a parent, changing careers, or wanting clarity on a relationship – or perhaps you are living with a trauma that needs to be healed. I support individuals by helping them find inner acceptance, learn how to soothe distress, and feel able to experience peace and enjoyment in their life.
I recognize the value of your lived experience, and I work to help you make meaning out of your story and discover your best path forward. I integrate a trauma-informed approach with acceptance-commitment therapy, emotion-focused therapy, and internal family systems therapy (“parts” work). I incorporate anti-oppressive, anti-racist, and feminist therapy to consider how your experiences and behaviour are impacted by the social systems that you exist in. I understand that therapy is an investment, and we will set goals and work together to find the best tools and techniques to help you thrive.
My own experiences of birthing and raising my three children led me to focus on supporting parents and families. I have extensive experience working with new mothers to ease the sometimes difficult transition into parenthood, and I am Perinatal Mental Health Certified (PMH-C) through Postpartum Support International. I co-facilitate parent support groups, and work with individuals to help them work through the many challenges of parenting and be the kinds of parents they want to be. My core belief is that you are the expert on your family.
With me, you will be able to share your story in a compassionate, judgement-free space and hopefully feel safe to experiment with a different way of being. You can reach me at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions, or to schedule a free 20-minute consultation.
